<idPurp>Aerial imagery was acquired during the summer season for the 2024 Metro Area of Interest (AOI) encompassing approximately 1,668 square miles of contiguous, sectioned-centered tiles. A total of 7,293 aerial photos were captured, between June 5-7, 2024, using two Vexcel UltraCam large-format aerial mapping cameras mounted in fixed-wing aircraft. Imagery was acquired with at least 60% forward overlap between images in a flight line and 30% side-lap for photos in adjacent flight lines. Downtown Portland and significant overpasses and bridges were flown with a forward image overlap of at least 80% and side-lap of 60% to reduce lean and distortion of tall structures. Resulting imagery was aerially triangulated to an existing ground control network and used to update an existing Digital Terrain Model to current conditions. Imagery was ortho-rectified to the updated terrain surface to eliminate ground displacement, and the most-nadir portion of each image was used in the final ortho-mosaic.
