<abstract>Incorporated city boundaries in and around the Portland metropolitan area, derived from Boundary Commission and Oregon Secretary of State filed annexations.</abstract>
<purpose>For general mapping and analysis. This boundary layer is used by Metro as the authoritative source for delineating the jurisdictional boundaries of cities within the Metro boundary.</purpose>
<supplinf>This layer is a dissolved product of a more comprehensive polygon dataset composed of individual annexations recorded with Metro, the Oregon Secretary of State and the Portland Metropolitan Area Local Government Boundary Commission which existed until January 1, 1999. Edits to this data are based on annexation legal descriptions. City boundaries outside the Metro boundary are direct imports of data submitted from local jurisdictions.</supplinf>
